Amazon Announces $35 Billion India Investment Plan Through 2030
Amazon has committed to investing over $35 billion in India by 2030, with a focus on expanding cloud infrastructure and AI capabilities through Amazon Web Services. This builds on the nearly $40 billion the tech giant has already poured into the country since 2010, including a $26 billion pledge made in 2023.
The investment aims to create 1 million additional jobs through direct and indirect employment while quadrupling exports to $80 billion. Amazon also plans to extend AI benefits to 15 million small businesses, positioning India as a key growth market for its digital ecosystem.
The announcement follows similar commitments from Microsoft ($17.5 billion) and Google ($15 billion) in India's rapidly expanding tech infrastructure sector. These investments signal a broader trend of Big Tech betting on India's digital transformation.
